About Tim Goodwin
I am an associate professor of education at Bemidji State University trying to figure out how to live in the world in a manner that honors the life that the Earth has provided. I have written three books on nature, ecological identity, and teaching methods, and have a passion for music–listening, writing, and performing. I also work with individual teachers or schools conducting training and coaching for developing and teaching thematic, inquiry-based curriculum. I’ve taught every grade from 5th grade up and just about every subject in science. I received an M.A. and Doctorate in Education from Hamline University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Olaf College. My research involves work in thematic curriculum design, environmental education, ecological literacy and ecological identity.
